Synopsis: Automatic generation control; voltage stability enhancement; quality of electricity supply; harmonic distortion; voltage drops, surges and flicker; power electronic solutions. Asymmetry; energy metering systems; quality standard and benchmarks. Calculation of short circuit currents; plant rating. Automation; supervisory and control systems; substation arrangements; cable and overhead line arrangement.
Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 70% + Laboratory and assignment work: 30%
