Synopsis: Principles of electromagnetism and wave propagation based on the use of Maxwell's equations to analyse the properties of more complicated structures such as transmission lines, plane interfaces, optical waveguides, optical fibres and lightwave propagation, antennas and cylindrical metallic waveguides.
Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 70% + Laboratory exam and assignment work: 30%
Contact Hours: 26 lecture hours, 24 laboratory/practice classes hours
Prerequisites: ECE2101, ECE2201 (or PHS2022) and MAT2901 (or MTH2010)
