Synopsis: Intensive theoretical presentations and discussions of current issues and language in the discipline of Perfomance Theory, including the body, feminist theory, phenomenology, lesbian and gay studies, postcolonial theory and queer commentary. Includes viewings and findings of 'performance' and 'performativity' in ritual, popular culture, studio art, music, cinema, television and theatre.
Assessment: Preparedness/Participation: 20% + Research paper (6000 words): 40% + Group presentation: 20% + Creative project: 20%
Contact Hours: 2 hours (1 x 2 hour seminar) per week
