Preparation for Performance ( 6 points, SCA Band 1, 0.125 EFTSL)

Synopsis: This unit will provide students with the tools to prepare a text or performance score for presentation. Though a full production is not the out come of this unit, there will be practical workshops to illustrate and explore methods of rehearsal technique. The unit relies heavily, as do all theatrical ventures, on the capacity to work in an ensemble.

Assessment: Written and oral presentation: 30% + Practical workshop: 30% + Seminar participation and assessment: 40%

Contact Hours: 2 hours (1 x 2 hour workshop) per week

Prerequisites: Normally students will have completed a first and second year DTS sequence
