Clayton Second semester 2005 (Day)
Synopsis: This unit will utilise the elements of dramaturgical research to shape the creation of a performance from a dramatic text. The unit will have specific areas of investigation particular to each year of presentation, for example, an investigation into issues of gender, race, morality, etc; the process of theatre making will explore these issues in a workshop/rehearsal environment. As a corollary, contemporary theatrical practices will be examined for the relevant technique or methodology to be employed in the making.
Assessment: Performance task (equivalent 4500 words): 100%
Contact Hours: 3 hours (1 x 3 hour workshop) per week
