Synopsis: Distributed databases including data model partitioning, fragmentation, replication issues, query optimisation, concurrency control, restart and recovery, transaction management, distributed design, communication models, client-server and peer-to-peer products.
Assessment: Written (3000 words): 40% + Practical work: 40% + Presentation: 20%
