Synopsis: HTTP. XHTML structure and syntax: text formatting, lists, links, tables, layers, frames, forms. Graphics formats and web based use of graphics. Cascading style sheets. Browser plug-ins. Audio and video systems. Streaming servers. Scripted multimedia uning SMIL. Embedded multimedia presentations. XML: file structure, well formed XML, valid XML. Validation with DTDs. Large scale web design. Wireless Markup Language: building sites for mobile devices.

Assessment: Practical work: 60%, Exam: 40%.

Prerequisites: Entry into any masters degree of the Faculty of Information Technology
