Synopsis: The network computing project allows a student to have the opportunity to carry out a significant individual task in the information technology field under supervision. The project can be conducted in a variety of topic areas, which may include: the design, development, prototype construction and testing of a significant item of hardware or software; an in-depth investigation and report of a relevant topic in information technology. The project topic must be approved by the supervisor and project coordinator prior to its commencement.

Objectives: The network computing project allows a student to have the opportunity to carry out a significant individual task in the information technology field under supervision. The project can be conducted in a variety of topic areas, which may include: the design, development, prototype construction and testing of a significant item of hardware or software; an in-depth investigation and report of a relevant topic in information technology. The project topic must be approved by the supervisor and project coordinator prior to its commencement.

Assessment: The assessment will be based on the project deliverables, which will depend on the topic. The assessment will include a variety of components, such as (but not restricted to): a project proposal and plan; a working prototype hardware and/or software, plus appropriate supporting and operational documentation; an extensive report of the results of the investigation; and/or an oral presentation, and where appropriate, demonstration to the examiners.
