Synopsis: Theoretical concepts, applications and research issues of mobile software agents. Topics include: Introduction to intelligent software agents, Introduction to mobile software agents, Mobile agent applications, Network Management, Electronic Commerce, Design and development of mobile agent systems, Mobile agent toolkits, Mobile agent interactions and mobile agent security.
Objectives: Theoretical concepts, applications and research issues of mobile software agents. Topics include: Introduction to intelligent software agents, Introduction to mobile software agents, Mobile agent applications, Network Management, Electronic Commerce, , Design and development of mobile agent systems, Mobile agent toolkits, Mobile agent interactions and mobile agent security.
Assessment: Reading Component: 15% Research Paper and Presentation: 50% Project/Practical Assignment: 35%
Contact Hours: 4 hours per week
Prerequisites: Admission to a Faculty of Information Technology masters level program and a knowledge of java programming.
