Clayton First semester 2005 (Day)
Synopsis: Coordinate transformation method, minimum potential energy, bifurcation loads, elastic buckling load, free vibration with damping, lumped mass modelling method, natural frequency and vibration mode, basis for FE method such as process of discretisation, element types and boundary conditions.
Assessment: Examination: 50% + Project: 50% + Students must pass both examination and project components.
