Caulfield Second semester 2005 (Evening)
Synopsis: Pre-requisite units ensure an adequate background in business technology, database development and management, and object oriented programming. Aspects of each of these areas will be built upon in the unit. To that extent, this unit is a capstone for the Master of Business Technology course. Understanding at a deep level of essential problems faced by business, including database development and strategy, analysis of change in business quantities, identification of cause and effect, experimentation in business, manipulation of business variables for optimal effect, and quantitative approaches to strategic risk.
Assessment: Examination (2 hours): 40% + Six assignments: 60% + If exam mark is 50% or more and performance in all assignments is satisfactory, the unit mark will be determined from 60% of assignment marks and 40% of the exam mark. Otherwise, the exam mark will be returned.
Contact Hours: 3 contact hours per week, comprising of six sets of briefing, workshop and review sessions held fortnightly, of duration 2, 2.5 and 2 hours respectively
