Clayton Second semester 2005 (Day)
Synopsis: This unit teaches students about the use of intelligent techniques such as neural network and data mining for finding useful information and patterns buried in data. An emphasis is placed on practical business applications, and commercial software is used. Applications include marketing, finance, operations management, character recognition and data mining.
Assessment: Assignment: 30% + Mid-semester test: 20% + Examination (2 hours): 50% + Students must pass the examination in order to pass the unit.
Contact Hours: One 2-hour lecture and one 1-hour laboratory per week
