Synopsis: The unit covers the diagnostic and prognostic assessment of behavioural disorders, positive and negative aspects of classifying abnormal behaviour and how these behaviours depart from what is considered 'normal'. It examines biological, environmental and other factors which may underpin behavioural disorders. Strategies for prevention, stabilisation and management of behavioural disorders will be considered in light of the major therapeutic approaches and these strategies will be evaluated. Current research findings and best psychological practices will be used to show how the unit is relevant to the workplace.
