Synopsis: Students will undertake approved projects for an employer, which will contribute to the organisation and facilitate the development of work place skills and application of knowledge to a practical situation.

Objectives: On the completion of this unit students will be able to: 1. Apply conceptual and theoretical knowledge to practical work situations; 2. Use word processing and other software packages as appropriate to the work situation; 3. Communicate effectively and appropriately with subordinates, peers, and superiors both verbally and in writing; 4. Work effectively as part of a team; 5. Participate in team discussions; 6. Write effective internal reports for management; 7. Present issues and findings to subordinates, peers and superiors using appropriate software; 8. Undertake applied research projects in the areas of Accounting, Economics, Management, Marketing, or any area of Business.

Assessment: Employer assessment: 30% + Work placement report (7000 words): 70%

Prerequisites: Completion of 96 credit points including appropriate units for the area of work placement.
