Synopsis: This unit provides students with an overview of the complexity of Aboriginal health and ill-health. It also looks at the impact of colonisation on the health and well-being of Indigenous Australians. It examines access to health care systems and evaluates how Aboriginal communities practice self-determination in the delivery of health care.

Assessment: Journal (750 words): 10% + Research project proposal (750 words): 20% + Research project (3000 words): 70%

Contact Hours: 2 hours (1 x 2 hour seminar) per week

Prerequisites: AIS1010 or AIS1011 or equivalent
