Synopsis: This unit develops a new framework for the analysis of capital markets in Asia. It is done as a comparative study of 14 stock and bond markets in the Asian Region by providing a summary of findings about these markets' economic and financial behaviour. Students would be able to understand how the Region's capital markets function in ways different from one another and also different from the more developed capital markets, eg. In Australia. The instructor will then apply the knowledge gained about the behaviour of the Region's capital markets to draw managerial lessons relevant for investment and corporate finance of corporations doing business in the Region.

Assessment: One project report of an applied capital market analysis: 50% + Examination (3 hours): 50%.

Contact Hours: First Semester + Caulfield + Intensive mode over about 12 days including weekends.
