The
Faculty of Information Technology offers a major sequence in computing which
can be included as a science sequence for the Bachelor of Science course. The
sequence focuses on the development of computer-based applications, exploring
computer technology, programming environments and system development, with a
range of more specialised options at third level.

- GCO1811, GCO1812 and GCO1815, plus
- either GCO2812 and at least two of GCO2814, GCO2815 and GCO2817, plus at
least three of GCO3812, GCO3813, GCO3817, GCO3823, GCO3824 and GCO3828, or
- GCO2812 and at least one of GCO2814, GCO2815, GCO2817, plus at least four
of GCO3812, GCO3813, GCO3817, GCO3823, GCO3824 and GCO3828.
The
unit MAT1077, which is described in the `Mathematical sciences' entry in this
section of the handbook, provides useful mathematical background to support
these studies.
