Course description

The course provides a tertiary education for people interested in fast-track career progression in business. It is designed to provide either a detailed knowledge in a single field of business and commerce or broad fundamental knowledge of general principles and applications of business and commerce in two chosen fields of study.
The Associate Degree in Business and Commerce fully articulates into the Bachelor of Business and Commerce program.

Course structure

Majors and other studies

Students must complete one major or two sub-majors in disciplines taught by the faculty.
Majors and sub-majors are available in accounting (part-time only), business law (off-campus learning only), economics, e-business (off-campus learning only), international business (off-campus learning only), human resource management, management and marketing.
All units taken as part of the major or sub-majors are limited to units taught by departments of the faculty on the campus delivering this program.

Course requirements

The degree requirements are:
(a) Completion of four compulsory common core units (24 credit points) from:

(b) Completion of one of the following two options:
(i) Completion of a major of at least eight units (48 credit points) in a discipline from the faculty with at least two units (12 credit points) at each of second and third-year level, or
(ii) Completion of two sub-majors of at least four units each (24 credit points) in disciplines from the faculty.
(c) A total of 16 units (96 credit points) over a maximum of 10 years of study.
(d) A maximum of eight first-year level units (48 credit points).
(e) An option to include a maximum of four units (24 credit points) in disciplines taught by other faculties.
