The course is designed for students in a range of organisations in both the human service sector and corporate sector, who prefer being associated with a generic organisational, rather than an educational tag upon graduation. The Faculty of Education offers a number of programs in organisational leadership, and this course will broaden the suite of programs to incorporate organisational capability.
To be eligible for admission to the Master in Mentoring and Coaching, applicants must hold either a relevant four-year undergraduate pass degree or a relevant three-year undergraduate pass degree with appropriate professional experience, normally of three years duration, or have qualifications or experience considered by the faculty board to be equivalent to, or a satisfactory substitute for, the above awards. Negotiations for formal articulation arrangements may include provision for the admission of enrolment cohorts with equivalent qualifications or experience. Students admitted under this provision are likely to possess a number of workplace-based training qualifications.
The course may be taken either full-time or part-time. It is expected that full-time candidates will complete all requirements within 12 months (two semesters) while part-time candidates should complete all requirements within two years (four semesters). The expected number of study hours per week for a full-time student is 48.
Students are required to successfully complete 48 credit points comprising four 12-point units (consisting of two core and two elective units):

Two coursework elective units taken from a particular area such as counselling, organisational leadership, and work and learning that would extend their mentoring and coaching capabilities in a particular field.
