Pharmaceutics I A (6 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: Students will develop: - An understanding of the theoretical principles outlined in the syllabus in relation to design of solid, dispersion and aerosol doseforms, oral drug delivery, biopharmaceutics, and pharmacokinetics of intravenous and oral drug administrations. - An ability in applying their theoretical knowledge to the formulation of proprietary dosage forms discussed in this syllabus and an understanding of the manufacturing processes involved in the preparation of these dosage forms. - An appreciation of how to apply their theoretical knowledge to give advice on safe and effective usage and care of pharmaceutical products to patients and other health care professionals.

Assessment: Written examination (100%) including materials from lectures, Web-CT based tabletting modules, practical and calculation sessions.
