Tapestry practice and theory 1A (6 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: On successful completion of this unit, students will: 1.have explored a wide range of processes and ideas - drawing, photography collage and related textile techniques; 2.have developed individual and personal responses to projects3.have considered their work within both historical and contemporary tapestry practice; 4.have basic skills in materials and structures appropriate to their personal visual expression; 5.understand and apply the principles of occupational health and safety practices in the studio

Assessment: Folio of studio work: 100%, of which at least 20% will be assessed before mid-semester.

Contact Hours: 12 hours per week, including four hours of taught studio and eight hours of personal study and studio practice

Prerequisites: Admission to an Art & Design course or permission

Corequisites: OHS1000

Prohibitions: FNA1901 or FNA1902
