Application of Computer Techniques (12 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: This is a hands on course. Various research data will be used to learn Excel, N6 and SPSS. Each class will cover specific aspects of the relevant software and involve students using the data to carry out specific tasks. Thus, each class will form the basis of the assessment for this subject. Students will be required to submit four written assignments. Please note that this subject is not a methodology course. Primarily this subject is about developing confidence and skills in using computer software for research.

Assessment: Completion of a series of practical exercises: 100%

Contact Hours: 3 hours (1 x 2 hour seminar and 1 x 1 hour laboratory) per week
