Clinical research in radiation therapy (4 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: On successful completion of this unit students will be able to demonstrate and communicate a broad and critical concept of: 1. the role of research in the profession of radiation therapy; 2. the scope of research conducted in radiation therapy; 3. different methods of kmowledge acquisition and synthesis and be aware of the moral, ethical and legal responsibilities of scientific investigation; 4. basic research concepts and methodology and the different approaches in research in both qualitative and quantitative experimental desing; 5. the process of research through participation, under supervision, in a research project. As well, students will have a practical knowledge and understanding of the process of gaining ethics approval for a research project.

Assessment: Assignment: 20% + Research journal: 10% + Project report: 60% + Research presentation: 10%
