Radiologic physics (4 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: On completion of this subject, students should understand the fundamental concepts associated with modern radiologic physics and their relevance to radiologic imaging. Students will also be able to communicate an understanding of the wider applications of electromagnetic radiation and particulate radiation in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Students will also gain a broad understanding of the principles of radiation protection and the relevant statutory requirements.

Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 75% + Laboratory work: 25%
