Synopsis:

Objectives: On the completion of this unit students will have acquired an understanding of basic cognitive processes; achieved an appreciation of the social basis of behaviour, and selected aspects of personality and abnormal psychology; further developed their understanding of research methodology and statistical analysis; and further developed their skills in report writing.

Assessment: Laboratory work: 20% + Laboratory report: 30% + Examination (2 hours): 50% + Hurdle requirement: 75% attendance

Contact Hours: Three 1-hour lectures and a 2-hour laboratory class per fortnight

Off-campus attendance requirements: Compulsory attendance at weekend schools is required for all off-campus students.

Prohibitions: WEL1320, WEL1340, BHS1320, BHS1340, GSC1306, GSC1307, APY1910 and any first-level psychology units taught at Monash prior to 1998
