Synopsis:

Objectives: On successful completion of this unit, students will: 1 understand the issues of ethics and morality specifically related to the art and design professions; 2 be familiar with commercial and contract law, with specific emphasis on design related issues; 3 understand intellectual property laws, copyright, plagiarism, patents, and design registration; 4 have an understanding of management skills and relevant government workplace legislation; 5 be aware of grant application procedures and requirements, and occupational health and safety issues.

Contact Hours: One 2-hour seminar and 4 independent study hours per week
