Introduction to International Relations (6 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit students will be able to demonstrate: 1. A better understanding of the relations between nation-states, regional and world actors. 2. A better comprehension of the forces pulling towards greater globalization in international politics. 3. An ability to present an argument in a fluent, logical and coherent way. 4. A better understanding of the of the nature of moral judgements in the conduct and analysis of international relations.

Assessment: Essay (500 words): 10% + Essay (2000 words): 30% + Tutorial participation: 10% + Examination (2 hours): 50%

Contact Hours: 3 hours (2 x 1 hour lectures and 1 x 1 hour tutorial) per week
