Synopsis:
Objectives: 1.have carried out a negotiated project on a theme of personal interest which results in a folio of images, or other forms of presentation as appropriate, with supporting documentation in a journal; 2.have developed their practice in photomedia either as a specific discipline, or by making use of other art materials and formats, with an emphasis on refining their personal visual language; 3.have developed their understanding of relevant photomedia practices as demonstrated in class presentations, folio and journal; 4.have considered how their work is placed in the context of current practice; 5.have a good practical understanding of a range of methods and materials which might include advanced 35mm, bandw processing and archival printing, colour slide and print, digital imaging, video work, installation, projection or performance as appropriate; 6.be able to speak to, and write about the work, with clarity and insight; 7.be able to evaluate and critique their own practice and that of their peers; 8.maintain a high standard of occupational health and safety at all times.
Assessment: By folio 100%, including a mid-semester assessment worth at least 20% of the final mark; final folio, worth 80%, to comprise journal, negotiated project and support work
Contact Hours: 4 hours of lectures, tutorials and/or workshops and 8 independent study hours per week
