Issues in Political Theory (6 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: As for PHL2330, except that students will be expected to attain a deeper level of understanding, and to have become familiar with a wider ranger of texts.

Assessment: Two 1500-2000 word essays: 80% + One hour examination: 20% + Optional replacement of second essay by a 2-hour examination + Students at third-year level will be expected to: (1) make use of additional reading materials in writing their essays;(2) demonstrate a superior level of analysis and argument in all assessment; and (3) base their interpretive claims entirely upon primary texts.

Contact Hours: 2 hour (1 x 2 hour seminar) per week

Prerequisites: A first-year sequence in philosophy, plus one second year subject in philosophy.
