Information technology in ambulance services (6 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: This subject introduces the student to commonly used Windows application software and the use of electronic media for retrieval of information. The student will learn about computer networks including local and wide area networks, and computer platforms and their application in facilitating information flow in large organisations. The use of information technology in ambulance will be explored from the perspective of local and regional ambulance personnel and business management systems to operational systems including the computer aided dispatch system.

Prerequisites: employment by an Ambulance Service
