Portfolio of Compositions and Critical Commentary (24 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: By the end of the unit, students should have a varied portfolio of compositions, including at least one major work, which reflects sufficient technical and creative skills, as well as a knowledge of the context and repertoire related to these original works, to operate as professional composers. Students should also have gained an understanding of music technology and some of its compositional applications.

Assessment: Portfolio of original compositions (15 to 20 minutes of original music): 75% + Critical commentary (4500 words): 25%
