Synopsis:

Objectives: On completion of this unit students will: 1. understand the concepts of data confidentiality, access and security; 2. understand the procedures for quality control of data; 3. understand the data storage, backup and archiving procedures; 4. understand the types of computerised database and statistical packages; 5. be skilled in the practical use of databases and statistical packages.

Assessment: Class participation + written assignments + Take-home style Examination
