Synopsis:

Objectives: On completion of this unit students will be able to: 1.Define the relationship between packaging and branding 2.Identify the importance of packaging as an element of product design 3.Describe the legislative requirements associated with packaging 4.Describe the production requirements associated with packaging 5.Discuss the design constraints of a package 6.Implement packaging strategies 7.Describe the history of packaging 8.Appreciate the relationship between packaging and branding

Assessment: Studio Project: 60% + Examination (2 hours): 40%

Contact Hours: 3 Hours class contact or equivalent per week

Prerequisites: MKF1120 (or equivalent)
