Counselling and professional practice 1 (6 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: On completion of this unit students will be able to: 1. demonstrate a basic level of competence in counselling; 2. demonstrate their approach to counselling; 3. describe the obligations of psychologists and their clients as outlined in the APS Code for Professional Conduct; 4. describe the purpose of legislation relating to the practice of health psychology and how to comply with such legislation.

Assessment: Essay (2000 words): 25% + Counselling tapes (3 tapes): 30% + Personal journal (1000 words): 20% + Case study (2000 words): 25%

Off-campus attendance requirements: Five-day residential school
