Principles of property law (6 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: On completion of this subject students will have: (a) acquired an understanding of the fundamental concepts of the law relating to real and personal property; (b) acquired a thorough familiarity with the relevant legislation relating to real property in Victoria; (c) acquired an ability to analyse accurately the legal implications of disputes involving property interests and to apply relevant legal provisions and principles to such disputes; (d) acquired an initial understanding of the practice of property litigation; (e) further developed skills in caselaw analysis and statutory interpretation.

Assessment: Memorandum of Advice: 30% Final examination: 70%

Contact Hours: 2 hour seminar per week x 12 weeks
