Current issues in civil procedure (6 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: Students who successfully complete this subject should (1) understand the modern trends and tendencies in resolving civil disputes in Victoria; (2) be familiar with recent shifts in civil administration of justice; (3) have a working knowledge of selected areas of legislation, rules and practice in civil procedure; (4) be able to draw upon procedural developments in other Australian and common law jurisdictions; and (5) be able to critically evaluate recent procedural developments in Australia.

Assessment: Choice of examination, open-book/take-home assignment, research paper(s): 10% per 750 words. Students choosing 100% assessment based upon one research paper must submit an outline and present the paper to the class.
