Synopsis:

Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit students will be able to: 1. Summarise in Korean, information on current issues obtained through various materials. 2. Read and interpret texts from various genre areas. 3. Speak and write their opinions effectively in Korean based on the information gathered. 4. Understand socio-cultural aspects of Korea reflected in various genre areas.

Assessment: Ten short written papers (300 word each): 25% + One written paper (1500 words): 20% + Class participation: 10% + Examination (3 hours of written 25%, spoken 20%): 45%

Contact Hours: 4 hours (2 x 1 hour lectures and 2 x 1 hour tutorials) per week

Prerequisites: KOR5090 or equivalent

Prohibitions: KOR4100
