Synopsis:

Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit students will be able to: 1. Speak and listen to comprehend enough to communicate in everyday social situations. 2. Read highly simplified texts from magazines and newspapers. 3. Write a personal letter on simple everyday topics or a simple report on an everyday event.

Assessment: Continuous assessment (oral and written class work, homework, tests): 60% + Examination (4 hours): 40%

Contact Hours: 4 hours (2 x 1 hour lectures and 2 x 1 hour tutorials) per week

Prerequisites: KOR4020 or equivalent

Prohibitions: KOR4030
