Sustainability and Development (12 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: Students will understand a wide range of issues and conflicts associated with natural resources management and sustainability; employ a range of analytical frameworks for understanding the links between political economy of development and ecological change; research and analyse the environmental, social and economic sustainability of development projects; understand and have a critical appreciation of alternative approaches to sustainable development.

Assessment: Reading diary 3000 words 25%, Analytical essay 6000 words 75%

Contact Hours: Four 8-hour modules

Prerequisites: Enrolment in the Graduate Certificate in IDEA (Program for organisational clients of Monash International)
