Synopsis:

Objectives: On successful completion of this unit, students will: 1.understand principal methods of small scale construction; 2.understand major materials used in small scale construction and interiors; 3.understand the integration of elements and systems used in the building of small scale constructions; 4.understand the basic materials science of commonly used construction and interior materials.

Assessment: Examination: 35% Project: 50% Tutorial presentations: 15%

Contact Hours: 4 hours in class and 8 independent study hours

Prerequisites: DGN1001

Prohibitions: IAR1201, IAR2201
