The Renaissance in Florence (12 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: As for HSY2860 with the additional objectives for Third-year students of acquiring a greater degree of analytical skills and a greater understanding of the key conceptual and methodological issues involved in using different kinds of monumental, literary and historical works in the context of social.

Assessment: Site visit (1000 words), Site visit critique (500 words) + Critiques of other site visit presentations (1000 words), Essay (4500 words): 75% + Examination (2 hours): 25% + Third year students will be expected to demonstrate more sophisticated analytical skills and submit work incorporating a higher level of competence in independent reading and research.

Contact Hours: Intensive lectures, tutorials and field trips for 35 hours per weeks, over one month (November/December)

Prerequisites: A first-year sequence in History or permission
