French Studies 10 (6 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: At the conclusion of this unit, students should be able to demonstrate their mastery of advanced analytical, expository and argumentative skills in the context of a) writing a synthesis of several documents; and b) presenting an expose on a given topic after 60mins of preparation. Students are also expected to reinforce and demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the main socio-cultural issues in France today.

Assessment: Two collaborative written assignments (1800 words): 10% + One class test (600 words): 20% + Oral participation and presentations: 15% + Final written exam (600 words): 25% + Final oral exam: 30%

Contact Hours: 4 hours (2 x 2 hour tutorials) per week

Prerequisites: FRN3090

Prohibitions: FRN2100, FRN4100
