Synopsis:

Objectives: To develop an understanding of the principles of basic geotechnical engineering and engineering geology and their application to the investigation, modelling, analysis and design of geoengineering structures.

Assessment: Design assignment: 60%; Examination (2 hours): 40%. Students must pass both assignment and examination components.

Contact Hours: 24 lectures , 24 hours of design class or practicals, 8 hours of field trip

Prerequisites: ENG2206
