Philosophical Issues in Curriculum Development (12 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit, students should be able to use their reading, reflection and critical capacities to address issues relating to the theory of knowledge and curriculum, particularly controversial curriculum issues; develop their own version of a coherent and consistent philosophy of the curriculum; show ways and forms in which their own approaches might be implemented in school situations.

Assessment: Seminar Presentation (= 2000 words) 25%; Essay (6000 words): 75%
