Exceptionality: Assessment and Intervention (12 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit, participants should have an understanding of the theoretical concepts and contemporary research that influences psychological and educational approaches for students with special needs within the current climate of inclusive education. They will have developed knowledge and skills appropriate to professional practice in collaboration with schools and community practitioners.

Assessment: Essay (3000 words): 30% + Case study (3000 words): 40% + Examination (2000 words): 30%

Contact Hours: 3 hours per week

Prerequisites: Enrolment in MPsych and completion of an Australian Psychological Society accredited major sequence in psychology
