Synopsis:

Objectives: As a result of studying students are expected to be able to outline a number of key theories and models of the reading process; evaluate competing ideologies which are current in the reading field; outline the current approaches to the teaching of reading and some of the contested issues therein; critically assess their own position on theories and teaching approaches to reading based on sound understandings of relevant research and opinion.

Assessment: Two written assignments (2 x 4000 words each): 100%
