Synopsis:

Objectives: The aims of this unit include providing you with the opportunity to think about your own taken-for-granted assumptions about the nature of research; explore a range of research choices available to you; evaluate these choices and consider their relevance to your own study; become familiar with a particular research tradition; establish a framework for your study through the completion of a research proposal which engages with one of these traditions.

Assessment: Assignments (minor 2000 words): 20% + Major research proposal (6000 words): 80%
