Collaborative Engagement in Communities (6 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: The learning objectives of this unit are to enhance understanding of rural and regional community development principles and practice; to demonsttrate understanding and application of collaborative learning strategies and self-directed learning in relation to rural and regional community development; to demonstrate skills in facilitating group involvement in learning; to demonstrate capacity to work towards involvement of diverse sectors within the community; to demonstrate capacity to reflect on and evaluate their own skills in collaborative learning.

Assessment: Two assignments (2,000 words each): 80% + Participation in Regional activities: 20%.

Contact Hours: 2 hours per week

Prerequisites: Preferably EDF5602 Facilitating community development

Prohibitions: Non - award unit entitled: "Establishing collaborative learning in communities"
