Synopsis:

Objectives: The broad aims of this unit are to develop and prepare effective learning episodes in school class music education; to become familiar with the range of approaches and resources available in classroom music education; to develop an understanding of and skills in the teaching of class music.

Assessment: Assessment: Biographical statement (ungraded hurdle requirement), Reflection on teaching: 50%, Teaching material development 50% + Student participation in the unit is vital either on-campus or via the on-line forum.

Contact Hours: 3 hours per week

Prerequisites: Music major
