Introduction to Computing in Schools (6 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit, students should be able to conduct a realistic and practical audit of school computer resources; ascertain the usage of computers in the school setting and comment on the effectiveness of the implementation of computing policies; examine the roles and availability of human resources especially in relation to professional development; comment on the effective use of software in the cross-curricula and integrated manner; express understanding of the importance of today's electronic technology with respect to teaching learning and schooling; discuss and relate Seymour Paperts' ideas to the Australian national education agenda.

Assessment: Three assignments (not to exceed 2000 words each): 33% each
